Clinical symptoms of Arm Shoulder and Hand Pain

Examination Support:
  • Neurologic
- Electromyography (EMG), performed when the suspected root dysfunction
- Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SSEP), useful for canal stenosis and spinal myelopathy.

  • Radiological  
- Photo Polos, to rule out abnormalities of bone
- Mielografi, Mielo-CT, CT-scan, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), to find the causes of pain include tumors, HNP adhesions.
 
  • Laboratory  
- Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, complete peripheral blood, C-reactive protein, rheumatoid factor, alkaline phosphatase, calcium (for indication)
- Urinalysis, non-specific for diseases such as infection
- Cerebrospinal liquor (on indication)

Clinical Symptoms
Shoulder arm and hand pain is pain that is felt in the shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand.
Nyeri ini biasa disebabkan oleh : kelainan musculoskeletal , system saraf , vaskuler , visceral dan psikogenik . This pain is commonly caused by musculoskeletal disorders, nervous system, vascular, visceral, and psychogenic. 

Can be Marked:
- Pain in the position and movement of the neck, shoulders, arms and hands.
- The existence of deformity / asymmetry and loss of form - the normal form.

Therapy:
1. Information and education

2. Pharmacotherapy: obaat pain (pain killer)

3. Non-pharmacologic:

In acute NPB:

     * Immobilization (duration depending on the case)
     * Setting Weight
     * Body Position and Activity
     * Thermal modalities (heat and cold therapy)
     * Masasage and Traction (for dislocation of the spine)
     * Exercise: roads, bike riding, swimming (depending on the case)
     * Tools (a.l: Coller neck)

Non invasive surgery: nerve blocks with local anesthetic

Surgery: In the HNP that after treatment for 4 weeks did not help and the presence of neurological deficits worsened.
