Definition
Like the stab of pain, was brief, coming suddenly and repeatedly perceived one or more areas of innervation, branches of the trigeminal nerve (NV) The pathogenesis of neuropathic pain in the central and peripheral nervous system. Patients affected by many over the age of  40 years, more women than men.
Clinical symptoms
  • Paroksisimal pain attacks lasted a few seconds to less than 2 minutes.   
  • Pain is felt along the innervation of one or more branches NV 
  • Sudden onset of pain, heavy, sharp like a stab, such as heat or shock and superficial.
  •  Alodinia (stimulus among other things: eat, talk, wash face, brush teeth, the wind)
  •  Between the two attacks there is no pain or if there is only a mild and dull pain.
  • Form of attack on each patient each (stereotype). 
Therapy Pharmacologic: Painkillers.
Physical examination
  • Can be found: 
- During an attack, the person is suffering
- Diluar serangan normal . - Beyond the normal attack.
  • Examination Nerves:
- There were no neurological abnormalities.
Examination Support
MRI, CT scan, to detect the presence of such penyebabneuralgi trigeminal root compression NV by blood vessels, meningiomas, multiple sclerosis.
